Hello, this is Jason. I thought all day on Saturday trying to come up with the words to express my thanks for what all of you have done and did for my family and me at Friday night’s basketball game, but I could not come up with the words that would do any justice. I continue to be blown away by your generosity, encouragement and prayers. Congratulations to both teams for their victory. Perfect end to a great night.
People have been asking, so I will give a little update on my progress. I am starting to get adjusted to the loss of my right peripheral vision in both my eyes which means I am running into a lot less things now. I am able to type without making too many mistakes and write the correct letters down on paper. I couldn’t do that a few days ago. I am hoping to start teaching again at least part time by next week. I have to work around my treatment schedule. I am looking forward to coming back. I miss all of you. Keep smiling.

I have been following your story since the beginning and check in often, most times I find myself with tears. Not from sadness but from awe of your strength and your strong faith. Just wanted to let everyone know how blown away I was at the basketball game. My family and I have always been proud of Jason and Joslyn but were overwhelmed with pride that night. I have watched him play many hockey and baseball games over the years and been very proud but none of that compared to this. I realized that everyone at Bullock Creek appreciates and knows him just as his family does. He is alway the calm, strong person in the family while the rest of us aren't, and even during this tough situation he has remained the calm, strong one. And Joslyn has been right there as a support, just like she always is, which is of great comfort to me and my family. Thank you to Bullock Creek for all the support you are giving my brother, your kindness was overwhelming and we will always remember this night and your act of kindness. We will do our best to pass it on.

Jason, I was thinking about you tonight when one of my favorite songs by MercyMe came on. It's called Bring the Rain. If you've never heard it before, I would encourage you to listen to it. I think you will find it fitting with all that you are going through. We continue to pray for you.

It is nice to see people from Wright State (and people from all over) praying for you and your family. As long as I have known you, you have always been quite the competitor and defied the odds (i.e. Bass, Bo, Nisch :) ). I don't see why this would be any different. Only this time you have the support of your church, community, and most of all Christ. I know we haven't seen each other a whole lot, but if you ever need anything just give me call or email me. Us "Stampers" need to stick together. I am truly touched by the support of your school and community! God Bless! We will all be praying for you!

I know it's a different situation, but my dad had a mild stroke last summer and lost the right-side peripheral vision in both his eyes too. It definitely takes some getting used to! Glad to hear you're feeling well, and even happier to hear you feel well enough to start teaching again. From all the comments I read on this blog, those kids you teach really look up to you and they (like the rest of us) continue to be inspired by your strength and courage. Keep it up!!
